Vertical Unit
Francis turbine is applicable to 30m~700m head hydropower station with specific speed 50~300m*kW and the most extensive applicable scope and 13~17 blade. It has the maximum peak efficiency and full load efficiency. The structure is simple, the cavitation is small, the operation is reliable and single-machine capacity is high. Medium and high capacity turbine unit usually use vertical type. The disadvantage is that the efficiency is low under low load and not convenient to repair abrade parts.

Part 1-Hydro turbine type and runner type
According to the power conversion methods of the runner, hydro turbine can be divided into reaction turbine(the hydraulic energy transfers to the runner with main enable power and kinetic power as supplement) and impulse turbine(the hydraulic energy transfers to the runner with full kinetic power).
